There were times when I liked exploring abandoned houses. They seemed mystical, mysterious. And it was inspirational. The walls with remainders of wallpaper had that special appeal. Their multiple layers created some incredible, eloquent textures. As if some kinds of eyewitnesses to the lives of different generations of people.
And then the war started. Its horrors gave birth to many like those. Destroyed, maimed, abandoned forever. Houses in which people would create their own unique world and which they decorated, choosing different colors that suited their tastes. We wanted to live and be happy.
